Human Modeling - Hiroshima Japan 2014

Human Modeling - Hiroshima Japan 2014

Today’s industrial HMI devices are complex real-time devices embedded in Cyber-Physical Production Systems (CPPS). In this talk, I presented an end-to-end vision for the development of future industrial HMIs that begins when a new system is conceived, and ends when the system is decommissioned. The research and development activities focus on leveraging human modeling and simulation technology during the concept design, new computation, communication and interaction technologies such as multi-core processing, cloud computing, virtual reality, wearable and mobile interaction devices. The expertise in all areas of a CPPS from deployment through operation all the way to the maintenance phase of industrial HMIs and the CPPS associated with it is a crucial factor to achieve the most flexible, user friendly and efficient HMI system.
